Have you made a woodland ripple blanket? I hadn’t tried it before and thought it was about time. So when my friend told me she was having a baby girl, I couldn’t help but whip this up for her and her lovely newborn.
Hebben jullie al eens een woodland ripple gemaakt? Ik had dit haakpatroon nog niet uitgeprobeerd, maar het stond wel op mijn lijstje. Dus toen een vriendin van me vertelde dat ze dit voorjaar een meisje verwachtte, zag ik mijn kans eens mooi schoon. Ik moest en zou deze deken voor haar kleine babydochter maken.
About the Woodland Ripple: the pattern
The woodland ripple is a chevron or ripple stitch, and if you’ve been following me you know that I simply love making ripple stitch blankets. This particular pattern is a little more lacey, which I really love. And the best thing is: the crochet pattern is completely free and can be found on the website by Attic24. This lady has made a couple of chevron patterns, but I have to say: I love the woodland ripple best. I love to work with charts, and this free crochet pattern contains a nifty chart.
De woodland ripple is een heel fijn golfjes patroon. En als je me volgt weet je dat ik het maken van ripple stitch dekens helemaal geweldig vind. Dit patroon is iets meer open, wat me erg aanspreekt. En het beste: het haakaptroon is helemaal gratis te vinden op de website van Attic24. Op deze website vind je wel meer patronen voor golfjesdekens, maar deze vind ik geloof ik het leukst. Ik vind het fijn om met haakschema’s te werken en dit patroon heeft ook nog eens een heel prettig en duidelijk haakschema.
Woodland ripple: yarn and colours
To make this woodland ripple I chose Scheepjes Softfun, as I think it’s a wonderful yarn to make baby blankets with. It’s a combination of cotton and acrylic, so it’s very light and the colours are absolutely vibrant. The colours I used are Snow (3 balls) and one ball of Glacia Mist, Butter Scotch, Soft Lime, Cloud, Apple, Coral and Rose.
Om deze woodland ripple te maken heb ik gekozen voor Scheepjes Softfun, omdat ik dit echt een perfect garen vind voor een babydekentje. Het is een combinatie van katoen en acryl, het is licht en heel erg zacht. En de kleuren zijn lekker intens. Ik heb de volgende kleuren gebruikt: Snow (3 bollen) en één bal van de kleuren Glacia Mist, Butter Scotch, Soft Lime, Cloud, Apple, Coral and Rose.

I went to the Deramores US web site which described this yarn as “super chunky”, but yours does not look chunky. Is the yarn chunky?

Dankjewel! Ik heb gehaakt met naald 4 mm. Afmetingen weet ik niet meer, 75 bij 100 cm zoiets.
