Pastel ripple stitch blanket

I am making crochet ripple stitch blankets like a woman possessed. I finished one and I simply can’t wait to start another. This brand new one is a pastel ripple stitch blanket, perfect for a new-born baby. It adds a vintage touch to any nursery.

Ik haak aan de lopende band ripple stitch dekens. Geweldig! De ene is nog niet af of ik zit alweer te popelen om aan een nieuwe te beginnen. Echt, ik ga heerlijk hard. Deze ripple stitch deken is er één met vooral wit en wat fijne pasteltinten. Een babydeken, perfect als je een beetje vintage in de babykamer wilt brengen.

Pastel ripple stitch blanket

I have to be honest: these ripple stitch blankets almost crochet themselves. The pattern is so easy and relaxed that once you’re into it (and that’s after round one, really) it’s just a matter of keep going. A friend of mine just couldn’t believe it when I told her that I make these blankets while I am watching tv or a movie and that I hardly pay attention to the blanket at all when I am crocheting it, only to switch colour. So, this pastel ripple stitch blanket was made while I was hardly even looking at it.

Ik geef eerlijk toe: deze dekens haken zichzelf bijna. Ik vind het patroontje echt zo heerlijk. Als je er eenmaal een beetje in zit (en dat is al na de eerste tour) is het gewoon een kwestie van doorhaken maar. Een vriendin slaakte pas een kreet vol ongeloof toen ik bekende dat ik deze ripple stitch dekens altijd maak terwijl ik televisie of een film kijk en dat ik dan eigenlijk helemaal niet op mijn deken let, hooguit als ik even van kleur wissel. Dus deze gehaakte ripple stitch deken is gemaakt, zonder dat ik goed zat op te letten. 

Those of you who know my blankets, know that I love bright colours. But for this pastel ripple stitch blanket, I chose more stylish colours and picked some nice pastels. I used Phildar 3 and Katia Cotton and hooked with a 4 mm hook, like I mostly do. I also figured out that my favourite place to buy Phildar is closing down. Oh no! So I stocked up just in case.

Wie mijn dekens een beetje kent, weet dat ik niet vies ben van felle kleurtjes. Maar deze keer koos ik voor rustigere tinten: pastels met veel wit. Heel rustig en wel stijlvol dacht ik zo. Ik gebruikte Phildar 3 en Katia katoentjes en haakte op naald 4, zoals meestal. Mijn Phildar 3 kocht ik tot voor kort bij Euroland, daar kosten de bolletjes maar €2. Maar nu kwam ik er tot mijn ontsteltenis achter dat ‘mijn’ Euroland dicht gaat! Voor de zekerheid heb ik dus maar even wat extra bollen ingeslagen.
