I have been extremely busy but didn’t forget to crochet. And now I can finally show you the granny square pillowcase that ‘I’ve just finished. It’s the first granny square pillowcase that I’ve ever made. It’s made for a 50×50 cm pillow and I’m ever so happy with the end result.
Het is heerlijk druk geweest, maar ben gelukkig niet vergeten om te haken. En ik kan wat nieuws laten zien: mijn nieuwe granny square kussenhoes. Het is de allereerste granny square kussenhoes die ik ooit heb gemaakt. Hij is bedoeld voor een kussen van 50×50 cm, bijvoorbeeld van Ikea. Stiekem ben ik heel blij met het resultaat.
I made this crochet granny square pillowcase 100% cotton yarn: Drops Paris. I think a 100% aran cotton yarn gives a fantastic robust end result. The colours I used made me think of a meadow in spring: with fresh grass and full of colourful flowers.
Ik maakte deze gehaakte granny square kussenhoes met een 100% katoenen garen, met Drops Paris. Dit is een vrij dik garen en is verkrijgbaar in heel veel uitgesproken kleuren. Het geeft een stoer en fris eindresultaat. Ik heb de kleuren gekozen, omdat ze me deden denken aan een grasveldje vol wilde bloemen.
It took me quite a while to finish this crochet granny square pillowcase. Because when I finished the front, I had to make a back of course. I decided to crochet one giant granny square in white for the back of this pillowcase. And to give it that extra retro finish I’ve decided on using some lovely white vintage buttons. Het duurde beste even voordat ik deze granny square kussenhoes af had. Want toen ik de voorkant eenmaal af had, wat best al even duurde, moest er ook nog een achterkant komen natuurlijk. Ik besloot om er iets meer gang achter te zetten en koos voor een grote witte granny square als achterkant. En om het dat extra retro effect te geven, maakte ik de sluiting met een paar heel mooie witte vintage knopen. Bekijk nog meer dingen die ik maakte met granny squares.

Niet mooi, maar PRACHTIG!! Wat een mooie kleurtjes heb je gebruikt en dan de achterkant ook nog gehaakt, super! Ik heb dit patroon ook al meerdere keren gebruikt, en door te wisselen met kleurtjes wordt het telkens weer heel anders.
Een prachtexemplaar – en wat een geduld en ijver moeten granny’s toch hebben hé!
