Privacy statement

Privacy

I promise you that I will not send you any spam, and I won’t sell your personal data to Third Parties. I will not keep your personal data longer than needed (unless this is part of our agreement or because I am legally obliged to do this) and I won’t share your personal data with others.

Collecting data

If you contact Happy in Red, your name and e-mail address will be (temporarily) saved. I will only use this data to contact you, for example, to reply to the question you have asked me or provide you with the information you requested.

Cookies

Happy In Red uses cookies. For example: when you leave a comment, your name and e-mail address (and possibly your website if you fill out this box) will be remembered. This way, you won’t have to fill the boxes again when you visit my website again. If you’d rather my website didn’t remember this data, please adjust the settings of your browser.

Google Analytics also uses cookies. I use Google Analytics to keep (anonymous!) track of the visits to this website. I purely use Google Analytics for information: I’d like to know which articles are well read an which articles aren’t, so I can keep improving my website accordingly. I look at the figures from Google Analytics in a general way, definitely not per person. Read the privacy statement by Google Analytics.

Newsletter

To send my newsletter I use Mailchimp. Mailchimp also uses cookies, for example to (anonymously) record if subscribers have opened my newsletter and which links were clicked. This helps me understand which content my subscribers like, improve my newsletters so I only send newsletters that my subscribers will love. Read the privacy policy by Mailchimp.

See, adjust or remove data

Of course, you have the right to see, change or remove the data that I have (temporarily) saved. Please contact me with your request. To be sure that it’s actually you requesting the information, I may ask for a copy of your ID-card or passport. To protect your privacy, please ‘black out’ the ID-card’s number, your social security number and photo before e-mailing me your copy.

Data security

I take the protection of data very seriously and take care every day to protect the data from abuse, loss, access by unauthorized persons, unwanted publication or unauthorized changes. If you have any questions about this, please contact me.

Advertisers and sponsors

I am not responsible for the actions of my advertisers or sponsors. If you purchase a product or service based upon a link from my website, you must take action with that company to resolve any issues, not Happy in Red. Any product, claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question. You are in no way obliged to like or dislike what I like or dislike. I believe you are all clever people that can think for yourselves, so please form your own opinions.

To help Happy in Red expand, cover costs of running the site and to keep producing free crochet patterns and tutorials, some advertising and affiliate links are run on my website. Affiliate links earn me a small commission (trust me, very small) on any purchases made when visiting these links. You can trust me that I will never work for a party that I don’t trust or is ill-fitted to be a partner of Happy in Red. The nature of any cooperation is always mentioned. Simply put: I don’t work with brands that I don’t trust, have nothing to do with crafting or offer poor customer service. You can see an overview of the brands that I sometimes work with, in the sidebar of my blog.
