Als je zin hebt om een leuke gehaakte kindersjaal te maken, dan is de Happy Snowman Sjaal misschien wel een goed idee. Je kunt deze gehaakte kindersjaal maken voor zowel jongens als meisjes van verschillende leeftijden. Ik zal in mijn haakpatroon uitleggen hoe het werkt. Veel plezier alvast.
Crochet snowman scarf: the yarn
- Scheepjes Stonewashed, colour Axinite (831). For small kids 2 balls (under 3 yo), for bigger kids 3 balls.
- Scheepjes Catona, 1 ball of the following colours: Snow white 106, Blue Bell 173, Corn Flower 511, Jet Black 110, Tangerine 281, Cornelia Rose 256 en Soft Rose 409.

- Crochet hook 4 mm
- Embroidery needle
- Your blocking material
- Optional: fabric
Note! You’ll only be embroidering with the Catona, so you’ll be using small amounts of yarn. You can also make this crochet children’s scarf using the Catona you still have. But if you often embroider on crochet or you’re into making amigurumi, investing in a Catona colour pack could be worth your while.
Gehaakte sneeuwman sjaal, dit heb je nodig
- Scheepjes Stonewashed, kleur Axinite (831). Voor kleine kinderen 2 bollen (t/m 3 jaar), voor grote kinderen 3 bollen.
- Scheepjes Catona, 1 bolletje van de volgende kleuren: Snow white 106, Blue Bell 173, Corn Flower 511, Jet Black 110, Tangerine 281, Cornelia Rose 256 en Soft Rose 409.
- Haaknaald 4 mm
- Borduurnaald
- Blockingspullen
- Optioneel: stof.
- Let op! Je gebruikt Catona alleen maar om te borduren, dus je hebt niet veel nodig van je bollen. Je kunt dit dus ook maken met keuren Catona die je nog hebt. Als je vaker borduurt op haakwerk of amigurumi maakt, dan is een Catona kleurenpakket heel handig.
Crochet Snowman Scarf: free pattern
Crochet the scarf
- Chain 26
- 1sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, 24 sc (25 stitches)
- ch1 (doesn’t count as 1sc), 25 sc
- Crochet *ch1 (doesn’t count as 1sc), 25 sc* until your balls of Stonewashed are gone. With 2 balls you’ll have a scarf of approximately 1 meter, with 3 balls you’ll have a scarf of approximately 1,5 meters.

Maak de sjaal
- Haak 26 losse
- 1v in de tweede steek vanaf de naald, 24 vasten (25 steken)
- 1 l (telt niet als een v), 25v
- Haak *1l (telt niet als 1v), 25v* totdat je 2 bollen of 3 bollen Stonewashed op zijn. Als je met 2 bollen haakt kom je op ongeveer 1 meter lengte uit, met 3 bollen op ongeveer 1,5 meter.
- Werk je eindjes weg en span je werk op, hier zie je hoe dat werkt.
Cross stitch the snowmen and snowflakes
- Cross stitch the snowmen and snowflakes on either end of the scarf.
- Use the cross stitch pattern below.
- The colour Snow White is marked on the pattern as grey.
- The snowflakes have the colour Blue Bell on the pattern, but you can cross-stitch them in any colour you like. I decided n white and light blue in the end.
- You cross-stitch ‘around’ the sc’s of your work. You’ll be working from the ‘holes’ next to the 4 corners of a sc stitch. So, top left corner is A, top right corner is B, bottom left corner is C, bottom right corner is D.
- Work per colour, so you won’t have so many loose ends in the back.
This cross-stitch pattern is based in a cross-stitch pattern that’s used for card making. I have searched the entire world wide web (or so it feels) for the original source. But I can’t find it. If you know what it is, do let me know, so I can name and link.
Borduur de sneeuwmannen en sneeuwvlokken
- Borduur bovenstaand borduurpatroon op beide uiteinden van de sjaal.
- De kleur Snow White is op het borduurpatroon als grijs aangegeven.
- Ik heb de sneeuwvlokken in de kleur Blue Bell weergegeven, maar je kunt de sneeuwvlokken in elke kleur borduren die je wilt. Ik heb ze uiteindelijk in wit en lichtblauw geborduurd.
- Je borduurt ‘om’ de vasten heen De linker bovenhoek van een vaste heet A, de rechter bovenhoek B, de linker onderhoek C en de rechter onderhoek D. Steek je garen van achter naar voor in B, voorlangs in C. Ga via de achterkant naar A en borduur voorlangs in D.
- Werk per kleur, dat scheelt losse eindjes in de achterkant.
- Heb je met 3 bollen stonewashed gehaakt, dan kun je meer sneeuwvlokken op je werk kwijt.
Optional: backing your scarf with fabric
If you don’t like the way ‘the wrong side’ of the scarf looks, I highly recommend backing it with some fabric. Choose a very light weight cotton to back your scarf. Cut the fabric in the exact sizes of your scarf (measure it when it’s on your blocking mat). Iron 0.5 cm of all four sides to the back. Pin the fabric to the back of the scarf and sew it on by hand.
Optioneel: stof op de achterkant
Vind je ‘verkeerde’ kant van je sjaal niet mooi, dan kun je vrij gemakkelijk een lapje stof achter de sjaal borduren. Kies voor een lichte katoen. Knip het katoen in de exacte afmeting van je sjaal (even goed meten als deze op de blockingmat ligt). Strijk alle vier de kanten zo’n halve centimeter naar binnen. Speld de stof op de achterkant van je sjaal en naai deze met de hand vast.
