Crochet pineapple coin purse: free pattern

When I see a crochet pineapple, I really have to laugh. Who in their right mind would crochet a pineapple? But then again, there is no better piece of fruit to crochet than a pineapple. The shape, the colour. It’s perfect to crochet. I wanted to crochet a coin purse for a while and I wanted to make a crochet pineapple for a while, but it never occured to me to combine the two. Until I woke up in the middle of the night (as one does) and thought: I’ll make a crochet pineapple coin purse. So there you go. And I will give you the free crochet pattern too.

Als ik een gehaakte ananas zie moet ik altijd lachen. Wie haakt er nu een ananas? Maar als je erover nadenkt: welke vruchten zijn nu eigenlijk leuker, als je er dan toch eentje moet haken. De vorm, de kleur! Ik wilde al een hele tijd een ananas haken én een beursje haken. Dus ik schoot van de week ineens middenin de nacht overeind (zoals dat gaat) en bedacht: dan maak ik toch gewoon een beursje in ananas vorm! En hier volgt ook een gratis haakpatroon van dit gehaakte ananas beursje.

• 1 ball of Scheepjes Softfun Denim, colour 506
• If Scheepjes Softfun Denim isn’t available to you, simply choose Scheepjes Softfun colour 2517 and 2518

Place your stitch marker in the first stitch of every row.

1) Crochet 6SC in a magic circle
2) 2SC in every stitch of the last round (12SC)
3) 1SC, 2SC on the 2nd stitch x 6 (18SC)
4) 1SC, 1SC, 2SC on the 3rd stitch x 6 (24SC)
5) 1SC, 1SC, 1SC, 2SC on the 4th stitch x 6 (30SC)
6) 1SC, 1 SC, 1SC, 1SC, 2SC on the 5th stitch x 6 (36SC)
7) 1SC, 1SC, 1SC, 1SC, 1SC, 2SC on the 6th stitch x 6 (42SC)
8) 1SC, 1SC, 1SC, 1SC, 1SC, 1SC, 2SC on the 7th stitch x 6 (48SC)

Now, measure your circle. The circle should be 10 – 10.5 cm wide. If it’s smaller, keep increasing for another round. If it’s larger unravel a round.

Plaats je steekmarkeerder telkens in de 1ste steek.

1) Haak 6 vasten in een magische ring
2) Haak in elke steek van de vorige ring 2 vasten (12V)
3) 1V, 2V op de tweede steek x 6 (18V)
4) 1V, 1V, 2V op de derde steek x 6 (24V)
5) 1V, 1V, 1V, 2V op de vierde steek x 6(30V)
6) 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 2V op de vijfde steek x 6 (36V)
7) 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 2V op de 6de steek x 6 (42V)
8) 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 2V op de 7de steek x 6 (48V)
9) 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 2V op de 8ste steek x 6 (54V)
10) 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V, 1V op de 9ste steek x 6 (60V)

Meet nu je cirkel even op. Hij moet ongeveer 10 – 10,5 cm in doorsnede zijn. Is hij kleiner, ga dan nog een tour door met meerderen, is hij groter, dan haal je een rij uit.

Rows with DC-together

• Ch2 (=1DC) together with 2DC + ch1, the rest of the row: 3DC-tog + ch1, attach the last 3DC-group to the first 3DC-group with a slipstitch.
• Slipstitch into the first opening before a 3DC group (the photo with the arrow shows you the right spot), in every one of those openings before a 3DC group you will crochet 3DC-tog + ch1. At the end, you’ll slipstitch into the first 3DC group. Repeat this row 4 times.
• Don’t cast off, leave a long piece of thread.

Touren met samengehaakte stokjes

• Haak 2 losse (telt als 1 stokje) haak deze samen met de volgende 2 stokjes en 1 losse, haak de rest van de rij telkens 3 stokjes samen + 1 losse en maak het laatste 3stokjes-groepje vast aan de eerste met een hv.
• Haak door middel van 2hv naar de eerste opening tussen een 3ST-groepje (waar je deze moet plaatsen zie je bij de pijl op de foto), haak nu in de opening voor elk stokje van de vorige rij 2St-samen + losse, maak de laatste weer aan de eerste vast met een hv. Herhaal deze tour nog 4 keer.
• Hecht niet af, maar laat een lang stuk garen hangen.

Sew your crochet to your clasp frame

Open up your frame and sew your work to the frame, using the long piece of thread you left hanging in the previous step. Make sure to attach the crochet evenly to the frame, so no pulling as your purse will be all askew in the end if you pull it too much at the start.

Maak je haakwerk aan je frame vast

Open je frame en naai je haakwerk hieraan vast met het lang stuk garen dat je hebt laten hangen. Zorg dat je het werk gelijkmatig vast naait (dus niet naar één kant trekken), anders zit je beursje straks scheef.

Crochet pineapple coin purse: crochet the leaves

• Chain 11
• Chain 1, 2SC in the 2nd stitch from the hook (=3SC)
• Crochet 2HDC, 2DC, 2 TC, 2DC, 1HDC, 3SC
• Turn your work, work on the other side of the chain: 1HDC, 2DC, 2TC, 2SC, 2HDC, slipstitch into the first stitch.
• Leave a long thread
• Make 6 leaves in total.

Sew on 3 leaves on one side of the purse, and 3 to the other side. Place them on top of the purse, near the closing and place the leaves a little on top of each other. On the inside, you can hide the threads under the frame.

Gehaakte ananas beursje: haak de blaadjes

• Haak 11 lossen
• Haak 1 losse + 2 vasten in de 2de losse van de naald (telt als 3V)
• Haak nu 2HST – 2ST – 2DST – 2ST – 1HST – 3V
• Draai je werk, dus werk verder aan de andere kant van de ketting en haak: 1HST – 2ST – 2DST – 2ST – 2HST, maak nu met een hv vast aan de eerste steek.
• Laat een lange draad hangen.
• Maak in totaal 6 blaadjes.

Maak je 3 blaadjes vast aan de ene kant van je beursje en 3 aan de andere kant van je beursje. Maak je dichtbij de sluiting vast en een beetje over elkaar heen. Aan de binnenkant foefel je de draadjes weg onder het frame (ik ben dol op wegfoefelen).
